How The Male Lead Cures The Young Lady Who Has A Limited Time

"I'll do it, the engagement."

"Then, there should be a contract concluded."

Noel smiled and nodded.

"Any more proposals?"

"How long do you want it to last? I cannot simply pretend to be engaged for the rest of my life."

"First of all, it will be a year or so. After that, we should decide by looking at the situation carefully."

It will be in 1 year.

Yvette clenched her fists under the blanket.

'Within that one year, I must find a way to break the curse somehow.'

It was unknown when Noel would change his mind.

So as soon as possible, she had to break the curse.

"Now, how about writing a contract together? I think it will be fair for both of us.

Yvette suggested and looked at Noel's expression.

A person must prepare thoroughly.

The verbal contract alone is not that convincing at all by the situation as of now.

"That would be great."

Noel nodded his head.

"For more details, let us make arrangements for the next meeting."

"Why are you not doing it now?"

To Yvette's question, Noel answered calmly.

“I came out while I was working, so I had to go back.”

"Did I interrupt you?"

"No. I was going to take a break anyway."

After finishing his sentence, Noel slowly rose from his seat.

"I already told the servants so that you can rest peacefully."

"......Thank you."

Yvette muttered and bowed her head.

She felt sorry for causing trouble to him in many ways.

"Then, see you later."

After saying those words, Noel left the bedroom.

Yvette, who was relieved of tension, finally collapsed and buried her head on the pillow.

At that time, she failed to notice.

This inadvertent contract would flow in a very different direction than what she expected.

* * * *

It has been three days since she met Noel Aberon.

After fully recovering her health, Yvette began to decorate her mansion in earnest.

She liked this mansion just as it was, but still, it felt like not 'my home' because it was a space decorated by someone else.

So Yvette started decorating the mansion by herself.

Hurbert, who became this mansion house taker and butler, looked at Yvette with concern.

"What are you going to do if you collapse again from overworking yourself?

Yvette heard Hurbert's worried nagging through her ear.

Don't worry about me, I wouldn't feel as bad as I did then.

Three days have passed since I met Noel, but the flowers showed no sign of withering.

Thanks to that, thoughts about him had long gone because all was buried in the back of her mind.

"Mr. Hurbert, would it be better to put white curtains on the living room window too? Will it make the room look too bright?"

"If you like it, any color is fine. This mansion is now your home."

"My mansion. It's a good thing to hear."

Yvette smiled and looked around the living room.

She was still thinking about what kind of furniture to change and what type of furniture to leave behind.

Still, it was fun just imagining it, so it made her laugh.

'I didn't know life would be so good without worrying about money.'

At that time, when I looked around the mansion proudly.

The doorbell rang with a 'ding dong' sound.

"Looks like a guest has arrived. I'll take a look and come back."

Hurbert, who was organizing the living room, hurried to the front door.

Yvette watched the figure with her eyes wide open.

'I have no guests coming over, so who will it be?'

As the question grew deeper, Hurbert returned with an envelope.

"Here's a letter for you, lady."

".....Letter?

Yvette was handed an envelope from Hurbert with a puzzled expression.

At first glance, there was no name of the sender on it. The only thing written is their name on it.

"Can you tell me who sent this?"

"I heard it was a letter from Baron Larish."

When the name Larish came out from Hurbert's mouth, Yvette's expression suddenly hardened.

'How did he know that I live here and even sent me a letter?'

Yvette bit the tip of her tongue lightly and let it go.

Somehow she felt ominous.

'Let's check what the contents are first?'

She was convinced there must be a reason why he has been silent all this time and sent her a letter now.

Yvette reluctantly read the letter from Baron Larish.

[It's been a while since we've been in touch, Yvette.

I'm sending you a letter to let you know, nothing less.

Come to think of it, Blanche's seal is still in my hands.

Did you know that a seal is necessary to help inherit the title, right?

I'll treasure it until you come looking for it.

An uncle who loves you.]

"......I can't believe that you love me."

Yvette laughed as soon as she saw the name written on the bottom.

Although it appeared addressed to her on the surface, the intention in the letter was clear.

'After all, if you want to inherit the title, you need to come as a baron.'

The aristocrat of the Aiden Empire had to carry a family seal when inheriting a title.

The system made sure to prevent a person who was not a successor from inheriting the title.

'I didn't expect Baron Larish to have the family seal.'

She didn't think that far because she was in a hurry.

Yvette frowned and crumpled the letter ruthlessly.

She doesn't want to face Baron Larish if it's possible.

But let's ignore it and move on, the seal is the priority.

'If you sent me a letter like this, Certainly, you have something planned.'

Baron Larish was a greedy man.

He will not easily hand over something as valuable as a seal.

He must be up to something with the seal as bait.

'It would be a bit dangerous to go there alone.'

But, it doesn't mean that she had no one to go with.

'......Should I hire a mercenary?'

Yvette was seriously troubled.

If possible, she wants to go with someone she can trust. But, no one came to mind.

'If possible, they must be respectfully rude to Baron Larish and someone who will not gossip...'

Yvette, who had been agonizing for a while, then suddenly raised her head.

It was because a face that suited the condition then suddenly came to her mind.

* * * *

Few hours after that,

Yvette, who got off the carriage, smiled brightly and talked to the guard in front of the main gate.

"Hello, have we met before, right?"

".......!"

The guard staring straight ahead with no expression, opened his eyes wide as soon as he saw Yvette.

"Huh? Are you the one who went with Lord Bleur last time?"

When he pretended to know, Yvette smiled even more.

"That's right. You remember exactly."

"What brings you here today?"

Perhaps because he knew her, the guard's attitude was more favorable than before.

Yvette glanced around and whispered into the guard's ear.

"I came here for a personal business with the Duke. You can say to the duke that Yvette Blanche is here."

".....please wait a moment. Let me check."

As though he had not fully cleared his guard, the guard took a step back and answered formally.

Yvette replied, and then waited with a calm face for him to return.

"Have you waited long?"

The guard approached her with a smile, perhaps after talking to Noel.

"His Excellency is telling me for you to come up immediately."

"I understand."

Yvette answered calmly but breathed a sigh of relief inside.

'Thank God. I was worried about what to do if he told me to go back.'

As I walked along with the guard, the Duke mansion quickly caught my eye.

Maybe because she came in faint before. The unfamiliar scenery felt as if it was her first time seeing it.

"The Duke is waiting in the office."

When she reached the entrance to the Duke's mansion, a man who appeared to be his butler greeted her.

Yvette was guided by him, headed to Noel's office.

The butler, who had been walking with her for a while, stopped in front of a specific door.

"Your Excellency, Lady Blanche is here."

As he knocked on the door, a familiar voice echoed from inside.

"Let her in."

The butler withdrew after bowing politely to Yvette.

Yvette confirmed that he had disappeared through the hallway, and carefully pulled the doorknob.

Her heart was nervously pounding.

The door opened then the scenery of Noel's office was revealed.

Books were scattered all over the place, probably because he was not the type to organize things while he's busy working.

As the smell of old paper brushed the tip of her nose, Yvette took a deep breath without realizing it.

Soon she saw Noel, who was sitting in front of his desk with glasses on, look into her eyes.

There were a lot of papers piled up in front of Noel because he was still working.

Suddenly, Yvette made a sound, Noel gently raised his head to stare at her.

"Don't just stand there. come and sit down."

Noel blinked and pointed to the chair opposite him.

Was it because he's wearing glasses?

Noel was exuding a more intelligent atmosphere than usual.

'He looks more handsome with his glasses on.'

Yvette, who had lost her gaze to Noel's face for a brief moment, shook her head off.

'Get yourself together. You didn't come here today to stare at him.'

She quickly regained herself and sat down on the chair Noel had pointed to.

"I'm sorry if I interrupted you. I should have contacted you in advance."

As soon as Yvette sat down, she carefully apologized.

It's been a while since she asked him for help. She felt a little sorry to come here again for such a request.

“I was about to finish it anyway, so you don’t need to worry about it.”

Noel answered lightly and put the documents he was holding down on the desk.

Eventually, his gaze fell on Yvette.

"So, what brings you here today?"

"Ah, about that"

Yvette slightly clouded the end of her sentence.

She came here to ask for help. But it was hard to bring it up when she was already in front of him in person.

And then.

Noel, who saw Yvette's troubled expression, opened his mouth first.

If it were me, I'd definitely get him arrested for embezzlement at the very least. There's no way that someone who's already committed a crime like that is just going to quietly and willingly hand over all of the authority and privilege just because the rightful owner asks for it.
