How The Male Lead Cures The Young Lady Who Has A Limited Time

A few days later the news that would turn the Empire upside down reached the social circles.

It was the engagement news between Noel Aberon and Yvette Blanche.

The news of the engagement caused a stir in society, which had been quiet for some time. On top of that, when the news that Yvette had officially become Countess of Blanche went around, the two became the center of attention.

How did two people, who had never interacted at all, become engaged?

That's all people talked about when they met each other.

In addition to that, as rumors spread that they were engaged for love, rather than a normal engagement decided by the families, the interest of the aristocrats increased even more.

Perhaps because of that, Yvette was bombarded with letters less than a week after announcing the engagement.

When one sees letters being piled up on a desk and spilling down to the floor, it was an amount that could only be called a bomb.

Everyone seemed to know her address, even though she had never announced it otherwise.

Yvette, who was looking around the letters, sighed as if the ground was going to collapse.

'It's a good thing I hired more people. Otherwise, Mr. Hubert would never be able to handle it alone.'

Hubert said he was fine, but Yvette was bothered the whole time that he managed the mansion by himself.

So I recently hired a maid to help Huberd manage the mansion. Originally, I was going to pick more, but I chose one because he said one would be enough. Well, Eden is helping Mr. Hubert in his own way.

Yvette smiled lightly as she remembered when she first met Eden. Since the time he was severely scolded, he has been avoiding her for a while with a scow on his face.

Feeling sorry for him, Yvette bought some sweet treats and toys for the child. Then Eden started chasing after her like a puppy at some point onwards.

'I feel like I'm a bad adult who lures a little kid with candy.'

It was so cute seeing him chase after her with twinkling eyes that Yvette kept taking care of him.

"......By the way, what should I do with these letters?"

After a pleasant recollection, Yvette sighed again.

I'd love to use it all as a fire starter for the fireplace, but that was not possible.

'No matter how hard it is, you can't ignore the invitations of nobles like that.'

If her knowledge wasn't wrong, she would have to personally reply one by one to the invitation of the nobleman.

'My wrist is going to crumble before I finish all of this.'

At that time, Hubert's voice was heard, accompanied by a clever, light knock on the door.

"Countess, I've brought your tea."

"Oh, yes. Come in, Mr. Hubert."

Flinching at the unfamiliar name for a moment, Yvette smiled and looked up.

'The title of Countess is still awkward.'

After announcing her engagement, Hubert called her Countess instead of Lady. Yvette waved her hands, saying he didn't have to, but Hubert was adamant. Thanks to this, the newly hired help followed him and called her Countess.

It was awkward because it was my first time hearing it, but I was also proud that it seemed like I had become someone great.

"You must have a lot of work."

Hubert came into the study with a large silver tray and Yvette sighed, lifting a letter from her desk.

"Don't even say it. There are so many people who sent me letters that I can't even remember the names."

It was even harder to tell who was who because each name was complicated. While Yvette grappled with the letters, Hubert set the tray down on the desk.

Then he skillfully poured tea into her cup.

"I don’t know how everyone knows and keeps sending letters. I never said I live here.”

As Yvette muttered lamentably, Hubert smiled softly.

"You shouldn't look down on the aristocracy's information network. Perhaps they found a way to send the letter even though the Countess was at the end of the capital."

Saying so, Hubert picked up a letter Yvette had put down.

“Can I see it for a moment?”

"Ah, yes. Feel free to look at them."

With Yvette's permission, Hubert picked up a few letters.

“This is Viscount Anjovi, a Knight Commander.”

“Is it a family you know of, Mr. Hubert?”

"Yes. As I remember, Viscount Anjovi is from a family in which the household heads have been knights for generations. They are praised for their uprightness, recognized as a family that doesn’t like to harm others meaningless.”

Hubert picked up another letter and continued.

“This is a letter from Count Lerorian. Count Lerorian is a family with a short history, so I heard that they are a family with a strong desire for honor.”

Yvette's mouth widened at the continuous flow of information as if it had been poured out by a machine.

“…How does Mr. Herbert know all that?”

“At my age, relationships tend to build up in many places.”

With those words, he went out of the study, saying that he had to finish his hounds on the mansion. Yvette stared blankly at the door he left, then looked down at the letters piled up on the desk once more.

Suddenly, she had a desire to escape from the place.

‘……It’s not necessary to write all the replies today. I won’t die by procrastinating for a day, right?'

Already determined to put off work, Yvette went out of the study with light footsteps.

Philia was the new maid she had recently hired.

In fact, when I first hired Philia, I had some anxieties. This is because her experience was shorter than other maids who came to the interview. But she was doing so well that such worries were overshadowed.

'Fortunately, I must have an eye for people.'

Yvette hummed out of the mansion.

Then I saw Philia hanging the laundry in the garden.

"Philia!"

"......ah, Countess!"

When Yvette greeted her first, Philia welcomed her.

"Mr. Hubert said you wouldn't be out of the study for a while, have you already finished your work?"

"I've decided to put things off for a while. I was reminded of something more urgent than that."

"What? Then aren't you really busy?"

"Yes, that's why I'm here to ask you to help me."

When Yvette spoke softly, Philia smiled brightly and nodded.

"I'm always ready to help the count! Give me anything to do!"

Yvette smiled lightly at the enthusiastic response. It was because of that attitude that she beat all the maids who had a lot of experience, making Philia the chosen one.

Most of the maids interviewed at the time came because they heard she was Noel's fiancée.

Maybe that's why, when they saw her mansion, there were a lot of people who were disappointed and replied saying they couldn't do it. Only one of them was sincere in the interview, and that was Philia.

"It's nothing much, but I think my wardrobe is too poor for a noblewoman, so I'm thinking about going shopping."

Yvette smiled awkwardly and scratched her neck. Due to the Baron's rush, there weren't that many clothes she packed.

So far, I've managed to make it through, but I feel like I'd have to get a new dress to attend parties in the future.

“The Countess does not have a poor wardrobe, you are more beautiful than anyone, even without a fancy dress, so there’s no need to invest in it.”

Philia defended Yvette by giving a passionate speech. Yvette put on an embarrassed expression at such words that lifted herself up to the sky.

"I don't think I'm that good."

“What do you mean? I've never seen someone as pretty as the Countess, you are like an angel! Your skin is as fine as white jade and your eyes are so shiny…”

Excited Philia tried to continue her praise, but Yvette hurriedly intervened. It was so embarrassing that it was hard to keep listening.

“Thanks for the kindness, Philia. Thanks to you, I think I will be able to build my confidence.”

“The Countess does not need to be discouraged anywhere. The reason that the Duke of Aberon became engaged to the Countess is because you are a good catch!”

“Yes, thank you. Rather, I think it would be better to hurry and go to the city. Can you tell Mr. Hubert to go and call a carriage?”

"Yes! I'll be right back!"

Philia quickly cleaned up the leftover laundry and ran into the mansion.

'Today, I just have to dress up a little, buy a few dresses and come back.'

Her conscience was a little sore from playing all day, so Yvette decided to come back and get the job done.

Soon after, she and Philia got into the wagon going into town.

* * * *

“Yvette! Look at this! I brought flowers!”

Eden opened the office door with enthusiasm, unfortunately however, it was not Yvette who greeted him.

“Eden. I already told you can’t be this loud."

Hubert, who was cleaning Yvette's desk, scolded him harshly. Then Eden looked around with a sullen face.

“Where is Yvette, why is only Hubert here?”

“The Countess went out a while ago. She'll probably be back in the evening."

"Tsk. I even brought flowers for Yvette...”

Eden rubbed his lips and looked down at the flower he was holding in his hand with a sullen face. Whoever looked at it, the flower was specially picked for Yvette.

Hubert smiled at his disappointment as if he couldn't help it.

“Why don’t you put the flowers in a vase and show them later?”

“Oh, should I?”

Eden, who quickly regained his energy, ran to Hubert and held out the flower. Hubert carefully placed it in a nearby vase.

“By the way, seeing that you even picked the flowers yourself, you seem to be quite fond of the Countess.”

"Yes! I hated her at first, but now I like her. She is similar to the master."

Eden smiled and nodded his head. Hubert patted his head lightly, then reached for the vase. As his hand brushed against it, a slight blue aura appeared in the vase. Then the flower came alive as if it had just bloomed.

Eden, who watched the scene curiously, opened his mouth.

“But, you don’t like Yvette, do you?”

"No. I also think that she’s a very good person.”

"Thank God. Hubert has the same opinion as me!”

Eden smiled and looked up at Herbert.

"I hope Yvette stays here for a long time. It's so boring to only be with master all the time."

"Young Master will be sad if he hears that."

"But Hubert thinks the same way too, right? The master just always looks for that woman named Rose or Lily, or whoever she might be...."

"I told you not to carelessly mention that name."

Hubert cut off Eden's words, and spoke harshly again. Realizing that he had made a mistake, Eden flinched and covered his mouth with both of his hands.

“Be careful with your words, especially in front of the Countess. You never know what will happen if the master knows.”

Instead of answering, Eden just nodded eagerly. Hubert sent him back to his room, and then he let out a small sigh.

“Master, what are you thinking…?”

His wrinkled face showed worries for a moment, then it soon smoothed down. Hubert, who soon cleared his expression, began to reorganize the study as skillfully as he had never done so.
