How The Male Lead Cures The Young Lady Who Has A Limited Time

"....Thank you so much for saving me. But I think my fiancée is looking for me. Can you excuse me first?"

Yvette, who managed to regain her reason, said with a smile.

Knowing that the opponent was a madman, it was best to avoid this place as soon as possible. However, Viscount Magnus seemed to have no intention of sending her back easily.

"Oh, my. Are you going to leave without telling me the Lady's name?"

Viscount Magnus wrinkled one of his eyes and replied in a sad tone. It wasn't that strange just by looking at his face, however, when I remembered that he was nearly 60 years old, I got goose bumps all over my body.

"Haha... Come to think of it, I didn't say my name, I’m Yvette Blanche."

She looked back at Magnus' with a look that seemed to say, 'Is that enough?'

"I see. Yvette Blanche... I'll remember that."

Please don't remember, you crazy punk. Yvette only nodded her head, holding back the desire to shout that thought. The corners of her mouth trembled because she was forced to laugh.

"Yes. Then, excuse me first."

After a short curtsy, Yvette hurried out of her seat. Baron Larish had already been erased from her mind.

'I will avoid that person from now on.'

If I get involved for no reason, I don't know what kind of trouble might happen.

Yvette swept away her surprised chest and returned to the party.

“…She’s late.”

Meanwhile, at the same time. Noel, who was standing alone against the wall, coldly looked around his surroundings.

Thirty minutes have already passed since Yvette went to get a drink. But no matter how long he waited, Yvette was not seen coming back.

'Was she caught in the middle of something?'

Perhaps because of the title of his fiancée, there were many nobles who were interested in Yvette.

Among them, there was a high possibility that those who could not stand up to Noel's countenance were holding onto her.

“Is the tea room this way?”

Noel walked in the direction where she had disappeared earlier. He was planning to go find Yvette himself.

As I passed through one door, a neatly prepared refreshment table caught my eye. Some nobles were also seen chatting among themselves, but Yvette was not in the middle.

'...Where did you go?'

No matter how much he looked around, Yvette could not be seen, and Noel's expression hardened.

'Is it possible that she collapsed somewhere else?'

According to Yvette's calculations, the flowers were not yet withered. But since the curse is such a big variable, she couldn't be sure.

'...Should I release someone to find her?'

Noel frowned.

Noticing that his mood had deteriorated sharply, the nobles around him secretly backed away from him. The bustling party hall was about to freeze again.

Behind Noel's razor-sharp like mood, one head with white hair stuck out from behind his back.

"What are you doing here, Noel?"

“……Yvette.”

Upon discovering Yvette, Noel loosened his hard expression as if he had never done it. When a smile appeared on his lips, the nobles around him sighed in relief. The cold atmosphere returned to its original place.

“I was worried because I couldn’t see you.”

Yvette smiled awkwardly at Noel's slurred words.

“I went around a bit to cool off in the wind.”

“Why didn’t you tell me. I would have gone with you.”

“I thought Noel was busy, too. You were surrounded by a lot of nobles earlier.”

Yvette scratched her head with her eyes pointing at the aristocrats around. At that moment, her sleeves slid down, revealing her reddened wrists.

Noel's expression changed as soon as he saw the red, swollen flesh in the shape of a hand.

"........What is this?"

Yvette, who later checked her wrist, was embarrassed and hid her arm behind her back.

"Oh, it's because I ran around and bumped into a wall. No need to worry about that, Noel."

Yvette tried hard to make excuses, but Noel didn't believe her at all.

“What kind of bastard touched my fiancée?”

Noel lightly clasped Yvette's wrist. Contrary to his careful touch, his tone was cold. At his question, Yvette swallowed.

I could feel the nobles around me already whispering and looking this way.

'That's why I was going to move quietly.'

She was still in the spotlight because of her engagement to Noel. However, if it became known that she had been attacked by her uncle, it was clear that useless rumors would spread.

'The curse alone is already giving me a headache, I don't want to worry about such rumors!’

Yvette shook her head and whispered softly so only Noel could hear it.

“I’ll tell you all about it later, so can’t we just move on for now? There are too many eyes to see.”

"....Then, let's move seats first."

Noel shook her head and held out her arm to Yvette. When she reluctantly crossed her arms, he took her out of the party straight away.

Eventually, the two got into the carriage they were waiting for.

“Now tell me. Who made you like this?”

Noel unbuttoned a couple of buttons that had been fastened all the way to his neck and leaned comfortably against the wall of the carriage.

Yvette couldn't resist the pricking gaze at her and reluctantly opened her mouth.

“…Actually, I ran into Baron Larish earlier.”

“If it’s Baron Larish, isn’t he your uncle?”

Noel asked, moving his gaze to Yvette's wrist. She slid her sleeve down and nodded her head.

“He seemed very angry with me. As soon as he saw me, he dragged me away.”

Yvette continued, recalling the Baron’s exhausted image.

“Perhaps something happened in the time I left the mansion.”

"...Come to think of it, I've heard that the Baron owes a lot of gambling money recently."

Yvette laughed bitterly at Noel's mumble. Considering Baron Larish's personality, this was not very surprising news.

“He seems to be in a hurry because of debt. Seeing he came to me like this recklessly.”

Yvette said quietly and turned her gaze to the window. As Noel said, if Baron Larish owes a large debt, there was only one way to solve it.

Eliminating her, who is the Countess, and taking her title. It was something I thought could happen someday. But that didn't make it any less shocking.

“…Yvette.”

That was then.

After being silent for a moment, Noel opened his mouth.

"If you have any concerns, tell me. As your fiancée, I will listen."

Noel looked at Yvette and murmured in a small voice. Because of the close distance, his voice could be heard more clearly.

“I don’t have any worries, there is nothing…”

Yvette clouded the end of her speech. Actually, I had a lot of trouble.

I was worried about how to persuade Kerbel to lift the curse, and how to deal with Baron Larish in the future. Other than that, there were countless other minor worries, but I couldn't tell Noel about it.

I was already getting too much help for that.

"...I'm fine, don't worry about it."

Yvette tried to smile, but Noel made a slight frown on her powerless voice.

“What the hell is okay?”

A subdued voice rang in my ears. When I lifted my head, I saw Noel, who was staring at me with a blank expression.

"You were attacked by your uncle today. Is that okay for you?"

“.....”

In response to the sharp question, Yvette couldn't help but bite her innocent lips. When she couldn't answer, Noel let out a small sigh and continued his words.

“I am responsible for your safety. So if you need help, just tell me."

At the end of those words, Noel bit his mouth. Instead of answering, Yvette repeated his words slowly inside her head.

Suddenly, a question arose.

'Noel, why do you keep trying to help me?'

After all, Noel had no reason to help me. Still, he took care of her as if he was treating Yvette as a real fiancee.

'Is it just because I look pitiful?'

After losing my parents at a young age, I was even attacked by my only blood relative. In Noel's eyes, he could have felt how pitiful I am.

'... Either way, I’m still thankful for it all.'

Yvette looked down at her wrist. Without Noel, the situation might have been much worse than it is now. Whatever the reason, it was very reassuring that he was helping me.

“We have arrived at the Duke’s.”

Eventually, the carriage on which the two were riding stopped, and the driver announced the arrival with a knock.

“It’s been a long time, Young Lady Blanche. No, now I have to call you Countess! I made a mistake.”

As she got off the carriage, a familiar face greeted her.

“It’s been a while, Sir Bleur.”

Yvette smiled and greeted Sid.

Sid, whom I met after a few weeks, was as lively as ever.

“I heard that the Countess was injured. Whoever did it, if our Duke’s catches them, everyone will di-”

“The doctor? Is he on stand-by?"

Noel, who got out of the carriage belatedly, stopped Sid, who looked back at Noel and straightened his waist.

"Yes. As soon as I got the call, I put him on standby right away.”

“Then guide us now.”

"Yes!"

Sid took the lead, and Yvette quietly followed behind him. Noel walked along besides her, with an unfamiliar look in his face.

Eventually they arrived at the small parlor attached to Noel's bedroom. As the three of them came in, the doctor who had been waiting in advance jumped up from his seat.

As he hurriedly tried to bend his waist, Noel raised his hand to stop him.

“No need for greetings, let’s treat the patient first.”

“Oh, yes! Who would you like me to examine?”

"Here."

Noel said with a wink, pointing to Yvette's arm.

“It seems like my fiancée hurt her wrist.”

"Okay. I'll take a look."

The doctor nodded his head and approached Yvette.

“Excuse me, could you please roll up your sleeve for just one moment?”

When the doctor politely asked, Yvette hesitated and rolled up her sleeves. Soon, her red and swollen wrists were exposed.
